Ten years ago, Jose swapped the chiringuitos of the Costa de la Luz in southern Spain for the montañas de la lluvia in the Lake District. Yet, somehow, he is still smiling!
And what a smile. It is infectious and gets The Round team through the busy shifts, the long shifts, and the I-can’t-believe-that-happened shifts. Occasionally he might break into song too, though we have yet to hear his flamenco guitar skills which are rumoured to be exceptional.
A fan of heavy metal, he channels his inner Goth, or perhaps something more Neolithic, in finding the Castlerigg Stone Circle a place of calm and happiness. Whatever it is, it is working.
