A story going back 150 years

About Fellpack House

Our team is made up of great people who hail from as near as Keswick itself to as far away as South America. What unites us is our love for this amazing place we call home – indeed that’s what’s brought us all to Fellpack – and for sharing it with you.

Whether you’re welcomed by Heli or Vic, made your morning flat white by Jodie, or left a fresh, fluffy towel by Ben, Candy and our team of pro housekeepers – whoever you meet during your stay – we’ll all do our best to make you feel at home. We can’t wait to welcome you.

History of Fellpack House

Fellpack House, built in 1892, is perfectly situated both on the edge and in the heart of Keswick – we admit that this sounds like an impossible contradiction, but it really is true! A five-minute stroll north and you’re at the Moot Hall and the buzz of the town’s shops and restaurants, five minutes south and you’re dipping your toes in the cool, calm of Derwentwater.

We’re probably a little bit biased, but we’d say The Heads is the most beautiful street in Keswick – and The Hazeldene is The Heads’ most beautiful building.

About Fellpack

We started with food, opening the Fellpack restaurant in 2017, recognising that it was a great way to introduce the Fellpack brand and vibe to customers. From a small site in the centre of Keswick we built a loyal following that kept us busy all year round and allowed us to learn on the job.

In 2019 we opened The Round, a burger and cocktail bar that fits our personality. The site is infused with our love of adventure and has led to the notion of a ‘Round from The Round’, any walk, run, cycle or water-based pursuit that starts and finishes in Keswick without needing to drive anywhere. We think Keswick is the perfect adventure town and there is so much to explore once here.

In 2021, lockdown allowed us to relocate the Fellpack restaurant to its new shiny home at the bottom of Lake Road and through the staycation frenzy we grew the team as the restaurants stayed extremely busy.

2022 allowed us to deviate into accommodation as we acquired the boutique hotel – Fellpack House – on The Heads. It has 10 lovely rooms and gave the team a chance to combine our hospitality skills and breakfast making skills, with a new type of business. It is early days, but we have lots of interesting cross-over plans for the restaurants and the hotel.

Looking forward, we will continue to try and represent Keswick as best we can, and keep enjoying the journey that developing Fellpack affords. What this space to see what comes next!
